I am most happy to know that all is well with you. Yes, I guess I think of you all as family and just want to know that everyone is doing fine. Wouldn't want any hurt feelings lingering around out there. I heard a new friend say the cutest thing the other day. Some lady made her angry and they quarreled a couple of minutes. The lady left and I asked Toni, my new friend, if she was okay. Toni said, "Sure. Why wouldn't I be? It's not like she was going to pay rent to stay in my head."

I'm learning a lot about the power of forgiveness. If we practice on the little, mundane stuff, we'll be prepared for the big disappointments in life. I'm calling it, "diciplining my disappointment".

I visit Prayer Requests myself, at least three times a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Did you know that May 1st was National Prayer Day? I went to church for intercessory prayer that evening and one of the pray-ers mentioned it. I later saw it on my calendar, where I'd written it a week earlier and forgot. I'm glad there are other options also. Good to know you're in the neighborhood. Don't wander off too far. :)

Do you think God does everything on purpose?

Hi Mrs. Piggy and All - I am checking in; alive and well.

Your tenderhearted concern for the presence of others reminds me of a campy novel/film - Cold Comfort Farm (one I would not recommend due to its sottile appeal; but, if you managed to get through the entirety of the book or movie, you are undoubtedly an ardent devotee and identify with the analogy). In this story, the matriarch of an eccentric family frequently insists on conducting "countings" to ensure all members of the clan are securely remaining on the farm. The troubled, but endearing and passionate cast gradually finds enlightenment and strength. The conclusion has each character experiencing a surprising, but ideal path to their dreams, whether they remain close to the farm or venture far from home.

I loyally visit Delve Into Jesus each day, and remain grateful for all I've learned and the people I've met here. Beyond the discussion forums, there are other parts of the site to enjoy. My surprising and happy path has drawn me to spend more time in the Articles and Prayer Requests sections lately. I am glad this site has many options for a diverse family.

I should have been more sensitive and I should have given you a personal reply. I do not have a problem with your comments, nor with what you wrote once you explained it and I should have told you so. Please forgive me. Just so you know, I am not a minister or pastor - I'm just a regular guy trying to make sure people have a home on the internet where they feel welcome and can learn more about Jesus, and I'm sorry I did not make you feel as welcome as I you deserve to be.

Do you think God does everything on purpose?

mrspiggy
"MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL"

PLEASE READ TO THE VERY END, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

God
During the next 60 seconds, stop whatever you are
doing, and take this...

Do you think God does everything on purpose?

mrspiggy,
thanks for checking in,i notice people not responding as much also,
but i didn't mean to stay away, i think about u alot, there is one thing that kinda bothers me and i don't want to be rude by bringing it up, so please know that i say this in a very respect way,

YOU DIDN'T LIKE THAT I TAKE IT
LORIL- 4/15/2008 11:47:20 PM

Loril: YOU DIDN'T LIKE THAT I TAKE IT

...what are you referring to?
arsindelve- 4/16/2008 7:01:46 AM

this was one of my statements and a response from arisindelve, and when i replyed to him about what i meant.

AITH,
GOOD POINT, I WAS WORRIED THAT IT WOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT,BUT U MADE A GREAT COMMENT TO IT.
(I know it's hard...
It can be done with God's help!)

You said:
"I love my husband a lot."

Love is a verb. It is an action!
Love covers a multitude of sins.

"Love...it keeps no record of wrongs."
1 Corinthians 13:5b

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

I would venture to say that you haven't forgiven him from your heart. Take it to God in prayer. Tell Father that you want to forgive your husband from your heart and ask Him to help you do so. You have to do like Paul in Phillipians 3:13:

"Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead."

When God forgives, He forgets. Ask Him to give this gift to you so that you may forgive your husband and yourself and forget the matter. I have found that as I forgive and let God take over, even if I remember later, it doesn't hurt anymore. Please do this now, because left unchecked, the enemy gets a foothold and brings strife into your home. Stop satan now. May God add many blessings to you, your husband and your marriage.

Marriage-Healing From The Past

I love my husband a lot.

You know this is not strange. It's confirmation that you are on the right track. God always does this for His children. The enemy has really been coming against the marriages of the saints lately. I can't count the number of prayers that have gone up for marriage restoration in recent weeks.

Last year, my own marriage was on shaky ground. I am sharing what Father instructed me to do for my own marriage. He is faithful to His word. Whenever I would go to Him about what I thought my husband was doing, my scripture came to me. "What is it to you? YOU follow Me.(John 21:22) I was to put Him first and obey Him and praise Him and trust Him to work things out. I was able to hold my peace after much prayer.

Turns out, my husband wasn't cheating, he was working on a special project. I should have known better after all this time, but he was acting very suspicious. I was starting arguments by not trustng and honoring him as the word of God instructs wives to do. I behaved badly. I had to go to God, confess and ask forgiveness. I had to ask my husband for forgiveness and I had to forgive myself.

The Word says in Ephesians 4:26-27, "In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry and do not give the devil a foothold." We HAVE to forgive right away. When we stay angry, we say and do things that are not pleasing to God. We hold anger and it turns into unforgiveness, which is sin.

So, I had to learn to forgive my husband for everything (even imagined stuff) immediately. I had to talk to myself saying, "No, my husband loves me and he would never cheat because he is a man of honor. He would never dishonor our vows."

I should pause here and let you know my husband is FBI. I knew when I married him, I wouldn't always know where he was or with whom. But it had been a long time since he had an assignment that info was withheld from me. Suddenly, women were calling his cell phone at night and he refused to explain. I am ashamed that I allowed satan to have his way with me for those few months.

Now that I've exposed my own sin, I hope you see that God brings us out of messes we get ourselves in so that we can help the next sister down the road. To encourage her that she has the victory in Christ. And as long as she puts God first, all is well.

I'd like to add that it's mostly sisters seeking prayer for their marriages. I've only come across a couple of brothers requesting prayer. I believe God is calling men to take their place as spiritual leaders in their homes. To be men of honor, righteous and holy and satan is doing all he can to prevent this. Too many men are walking in pride and self-centeredness. The lust of life has snagged them, but I
bring the Blood of Jesus and His work on the cross against these evil spirits, in the mighty name of Jesus. Satan is using unsaved women to lay snares for these m...

Marriage In Need

MrsPiggy,
All of the verses that you shared here in your message, are all the ones I have been pondering the last couple days!
As I read what you wrote my heart kept jumping with each verse you shared!
Needamiracle,
I pray God honors your situation with a miracle!
With God all things are possible!!!

Marriage In Need

Is anything to hard for God? Of course your marriage can be saved. You will have to forgive him from your heart for EVERYTHING. By forgiving, I mean you have to GIVE like beFORe he cheated. Ask God to help you forgive him from your heart. God is excellent in the forgiving department. He forgives us everytime we confess our sins. Unforgiveness is a sin. Confess the sin and any other, ask God for His forgiveness as you forgive your husband.

Read Matthew 6:33, 1st Peter 3:4, Titus 2:5, 1st Corinthians 7:2-5, Ephesians 5:22-24 and Hebrews 13:4.
God established marriage. He said marriage is honorable. You must put God first, then your husband. The word of God says, no good thing will He withhold from his children.

Be a woman of God and honor your husband, no matter what he has done. I know you love your husband. You would not have posted if you didn't. If you want your marriage saved, just confess that it is. Believe what you say and it will be so.

There's a good book by Elizabeth George, entitled, "A wife after God's own heart". The paperback runs about 12 bucks. It's a good read for any woman who desires a blessed marriage.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be given to you. God bless you and your husband.

Marriage In Need

I need help with a marriage that my husband has cheated on me twice in 25 years. I, too, am sorry to read that you are in love and it may be over. I was in love with a guy once and I just new he was "the one", then we stopped seeing each other. He actually moved away. I cried and cried because I felt he was the one for me. I prayed about it and soon was able to let it go and move on with my life. I had my girlfriends to support me. IgnitedFaith is right about the support you can get from girlfriends. I got really involved with church ministry and went to grad school.

Seven years later, I ran into him again. We started dating again. Now, he's my wonderful husband. When I think back on it, I know that I wasn't ready to be a wife. I needed to spend more time wih God, first. I had to "find" myself in Him before being a wife. Be encouraged, VictoriousWoman, it ain't over till God says it's over. When He tells you to let it go, let it go. You never know what He has in store for you.

Relationships

Ignited Faith

Thank you, please keep me in your prayers ..
Great lesson you shared. There are many grumblers in my life,
I have tried to share this truth with them also.
The Isrealites (Sp?) spent 40 YEARS going round and round
in the desert grumbling and complaining... when it was really
only about a 3 DAY journey!!! I believe that God keeps giving
us the same lesson, until we learn it, then we can move on.

Cancel

Arsin,
I am sorry that Alison wishes to cancel. I did not mean to offend her in any way. I was not judging her. I only meant to offer support in the only way I know. The Word of God is true. And the work of God is believing in Jesus. Believing that He will do what He said. I thought this would comfort her as it does me. Sorry Alison. Come back and I won't say anything else about your healing. But I must sow the word of God. It is my purpose.

Truely sorry,

Can I borrow it?

Well, today is Tuesday and I went to class. Just wanted to share today's lesson. We're still centered on speaking only words that line up with God's Word. Proverbs 18:20-21 is our topic scripture.

" From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

The lesson was found in 2Kings 4:8-35. I'm sure everyone has read this, but the point was the woman never SAID her son was dead. She continued to say, "All is well". The point being, say what you want and it will be so. Pastor took us to the OT to show that God has always upheld this principle.

On the negative side, we went to Numbers 14:2, where all the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron saying, "If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert! Then in Numbers 14:26, "The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. So tell them, "As surely as I live, declares the Lord, "I will do to you the very things I heard you say: In this desert your bodies will fall - every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me."

Moral: Be careful what you say because God is listening. And you will have what you say.

Healing

Amen!
One day this thought came to me.
"While you doubt, you live without.
When you believe, you shall receive."

Healing

IgnitedFaith,

Thank you so much for sharing. It encourages my spirit and I know in the sharing it encourages you too. If you have read my testimony, you know I had a brain attack in November 2006. I did not pray for healing. When the doctors came in the room after I was admitted to hospital, the first thing out of my mouth was, "I shall live and not die. I will declare the work of the Lord."

My Pastor has been teaching a lot on we will have what we say. Everyday I try to get people to understand that it's all in the believing.
I just realized today, that what I told those doctors has come upon me. Mark 6:29, "Jesus answered. "The work of God is this: to belive in the one he has sent." I did not realize November 21, 2006, I was prophesying into my life.

When I left the hospital Dec. 30, 2006 in a wheelchair, I said to my husband, "I will walk again." I'm walking.

I believe the Word of God with all my heart. Every word. We are to live by faith. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Keep believing you beautiful woman of God!! Confess all the promises of God in your life, BELIEVE them and receive them NOW, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Much agape love to you.

Cancel

Alison,

Go ahead and get in touch with me by email, and I'll help you in any way I can.
Can I share part of a testimony? After suffering and missing out on life, and almost dying because of "Severe Depression," (long story, not now) we went to a new Church. One day after Church, I went up to two Ladies who were strong Prayer Worriors. I told them about the Depression, and they laid hands on me and prayed...
While they were praying, I JUST NEW! I JUST KNEW that the Lord healed me! (I had no proof, in fact I told my Husband and my best Friend that I believed that I was healed, and they didn't believe me.
They also told me NOT to go off my meds. That is when I heard a Scripture come into my heart and mind; "Walk by faith, not by sight."
(I know my Husband was worried, since the Doctor has tried other times to wean me off my meds, and I would crash! My Doctor told me NOT to off the meds. in fact, he said he wanted to Raise my dosage! I said "No. I believe God healed me!" I knew the Lord was my Great Physician! I prayed, and our Church had a Revival that whole week! I went to Church and soaked in the Scriptures! They were like Medicine to my soul!!! It was if the Preacher was talking about me, and my life...(So was everyone around me for sure!)
I began to go off the meds. Scriptures began to come to me,
to Stand firm on. One of them was;
"Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."
Mark 11:24
I believed I was healed, MrsPiggy, but I still had no proof...
Now I was going to Revival at Church, and spending a lot of time remembering things from the Past, and crying...
And at home alone one day, I walked into the Bathroom, not even turning on the light. I just stood there. And I wondered about it all. And all of a sudden, my stomache hurt so bad, It felt like there were Huge Heavy Boulders in my stomache, and they were churning...
I started crying out loud, like a woman having a baby... I cried out to God something like; "Oh God, what's wrong with me! Please help me!"
Then I began to see (in my mind's eye) my life. It seemed to flash Backwards. It stopped each time I remembered someone Hurting me, or Offending me. (The pain seemed so unbearable! I cried many tears,
and they just kept comming.) I cried out to God again. Something like;
"Lord, why are you making me remember and go through this?"
And I suddenly knew that whenever anything had happened to me in my Past, that the Lord was right there with me.
I wasn't alone when it happened. This brought me so much comfort and peace, I felt as if someone put a soft warm blanket around my shoulders. (Yet the memories kept comming too. And the pain and the tears...) "Lord Help me!!!"
Part of a Scripture also seemed to fall on my shoulders;
"Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." Suddenly, truth hit me! For all these years, I never forgave anyone for ever hurtin...

Healing

Zoey,

I don't judge anyone else but ME. It is never my intent to offend anyone. I only share what the Lord has given me. I KNOW that God's word is TRUE. And the Word says, He heals ALL our diseases. If you believe that it's not God's will to heal you now, then that's what you will receive. You will have what you say. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21)

"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you HAVE RECEIVED IT, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:23-24)

He's a "now" healer. You receive WHEN you ask believing.

(I typed all caps because I don't know how to bold. I'm not yelling at you, just wanted to stress those words.)

I told you about the Faith & Healing class I'm taking, right? Over the past six weeks I have become totally convinced that God can, desires to, is willing and to heal us of ALL our diseases. It is the enemy who brings illnesses. God takes NO pleasure in seeing us suffer. Jesus said over and over, "BELIEVE".
I am convinced that if we go to God and ask for healing and believe that He is THE HEALER, we ARE healed. It's all in believing the Word of God and having faith in Him. It breaks my heart to see people suffer needlessly. God is so very good.
It is God's work to heal and our work is BELIEVING. (John 6:28-29) It's so simple. This applies to EVERY promise of God. It's all in the believing.
God bless you woman of God. Keep believing and keep spreading the Good God News!!

Christianity And The Mentally Ill

MrsPiggy,
I also believe that God can heal anyone!
He is a Great God! He can do Anything!
(I also have a friend who the Lord totally
healed and delivered from Bi-Polar! She has
been off meds for over a year now as she is
overflowing with the Joy of the Lord!!!
She said her healing was a process that taught
her to honestly look at herself and her life.
She had to get off the throne and let God alone sit there.
She realized she had a lot of anger and bitterness because
people and life didn't treat her like she thought she deserved.
She learned many lessons in Humility, Forgiveness, Acceptance,

I have read through the posts on this discussion. I would like to apologize to all who suffer with any mental disease. I disliked my dauhter's husband from 5 minutes after meeting him. I did not like the way he treated her. Just as she was about to file for divorce, they found out he was bi-polar. He enlisted in the navy and it was discovered during his evaluation. Of course, my daughter did not divorce him. She is a Christian and knows that God hates divorce. His being bi-polar explained a lot of his behavior. He now uses his condition as the excuse to "act out". When I confronted him about something he did to me, he said, My illness is the reason that happened." I told him that God will not heal him if he insist on claiming the illness as "his". All illnesses are of the devil. I'm not saying people are possessed. I'm saying that satan, the enemy comes ONLY to kill, steal, and destroy. God's Word is TRUE.

Psalm 103:3 states: He forgives ALL my sins and heals ALL my diseases.

Furthermore, Paul was not ill. His "thorn" was not an illness. God's grace is sufficient for our sinful nature. But He heals our illnesses and ALL diseases.

No, I do not know anything about mental disorders or diseases. But I do know that God cannot lie and if His word says He heals ALL diseases, that settles it for me. No arguing with His Word.

We don't die.:) But I understand what you mean about the scriptures. I believe that when we "fall asleep", our souls go to heaven right then and our corruptible bodies, which are buried or burned, go back to dust. Then, when Jesus returns, those whose bodies have gone back to dust get new uncorruptible bodies, while those still living bodies are changed and we all meet up with Jesus in the sky. We "fall asleep" because Jesus already died for us. We don't die.(John 5:24) We really have eternal life. Man is appointed once to die. We died with Jesus. We were raised again with Jesus. We are already seated in heavenly places with Jesus.

I like that one too. Sadly, God was speaking to us. We are His people. I know there are those who will argue He was speaking to the Israelites. But, through faith, we too, are the seed of Abraham. Thus, we are His people. And since God is eternal, so is His Word. We are so arrogant in our intellect, we "lean to our own understanding" rather than seek His face. Our ways are wicked as we allow offense into our hearts and stubornly refuse to forgive and our selfishness and self-centeredness is immeasurable. We are still looking out for ourselves instead of trusting God to look out for us.

I still have to remind myself that God IS good and repent daily from trying to "work things out". I hit the floor praying every morning and STILL have to remind myself "to look to the hills from which comes my help". I KNOW I am nothing without God.

Do you think God does everything on purpose?

Hi MrsPiggy,

On 1/20, I posted the scenario that maybe God didn't get involved in our everyday lives, but He created the earth and turned it over to us to run. I based this on Genesis chapter 1. In the last 3 months, I've been reading a lot of books as well as the Bible and would like to modify my post. While all I stated from Genesis one is true, God does indeed want to be involved in all we do on the earth He gave us. It has been revealed to me (finally) that if we acknowledge Him in all our ways, our earth wouldn't be in such a mess. I know that all of you were aware of this, even on 1/20.

Demons

Thanks I do appriciate it this will resovle this issue with me and my husband.

Healing

Alison,

I have been taking a class, "Faith and Healing" for a few weeks now. The main point that I've grasp from it is that when we pray for healing (or anything), we must believe receive, when we are praying. There are several scriptures to support this. Matthew 8:13, Matthew 9:28, Mark 5:36, Mark 9:23, Mark 10:52, Luke 8:48 & 50, John 4:53.

There are many more, but you get the point with these. There is a difference between believing and faith. Believing says, "Yes, Lord, Your word is true", while faith is the "action" that moves on what is believed. When we believe that we are healed, the first thing we do is praise God. Then, we put it in action, we take up our mat and walk.

Even if symptons persist, we can't doubt, we MUST continue to have faith. Sometimes healing is instant, other times it is gradual. Like the 10 lepers who were healed as they went. The fact that they went shows their faith. (Luke 17:11-14)

I am only sharing what I have learned. The Word says, "To whom much is given, much is required".

I don't think I took the scripture out of context. I was referring to the way GOD wants to teach His people, line upon line, precept upon precept. Very simple. That's why Jesus taught in parables about sowing seeds. Most of the people were farmers they could relate to what Jesus was saying. He told the fishermen, He'd make them fishers of men. Very simple. The entire concept of the kingdom was broken down into simple terms.

In Isiaiah, the people rejected Isiaiah's words because He spoke to them in simple terms. So, he prophesied they would be capture by the Assyrians and learn the hard way.

My Bible states it this way:
Since they refuse to listen, God will speak to them through foreign oppressors who speak an unknown language! God's people could have rest in their own land if they would only obey him, but they will not listen. So the Lord will spell out his message for them again, repesting it over and over, a line at a time, in very simple words. Yet they will be injured, trapped and captured. I would go outside looking for a child I assume was my son as I already had two of them. I would go behind the trailer which is where I was living at the time and there would be this huge well like structure and the boy would be on the wall of it, walking around. I would tell him to be still and I would jump on the wall and start quickly half running towards him and as I got close, my sister would be reaching for him from the other side. She would always just barely miss his hand as he fell.
It was so vivid and it was getting to the point that I didn't want to sleep anymore or I would hope that the next time, one of us would catch him. I began to think that my baby would die before it was born or I would die giving birth.
My son was born healthy and I was healthy so I was relieved but then I had the dream once again.
One night about midnight, I was sitting in the living room feeding him, the easy chair I sat in was facing the only entrance door and suddenly the door kind of just dropped open about maybe six inches. I thought, oh no, I will have to check it out tomorrow. It was summer so I wasn't worried about being cold.
Then this hand reached in, (it was translucent white the same as the sleeve) and it beckoned as to come, then it withdrew. Well now I was shaken and didn't know what to make of it.
I don't remember how but I relocked the door and grabbed a kitchen knife. I wasn't sure of what to do as I was home alone with my three sons and couldn't leave the sleeping ones undefended so I finished feeding the baby.
Then I checked all the windows and made sure the door was secure. I thought maybe someone was playing a trick on me but how could they pull of the magnification inside my home. It didn't make any sense.
I don't remember how long after this event when my son died but this woman I knew told me that I killed him and that he had gone to hell. It was shocking to being going through the grief, then to be accused of such and to have that judgment on my son. My son had died of SIDS.
I have since found out that you cannot sin if you do not know sin, I don't remember where exactly it is in the bible but it is there. We are judged by our sins that we willfully commit but a child is innocent in sin.
John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
John 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father
When Jesus rebuked the scribes, pharisees for their teachings He said Matt 23:23 Woe unto you, scrib...

Do you think God does everything on purpose?

I would like to comment on chance or God led. I am not sure if this is still the question but I had been reading the old testament where Moses was leading the people to the promised land.
I found it quite interesting in Numbers 20 where the people were grumbling about no water and when Moses and Aaron sought God, God told Moses to take the rod and to 'speak unto the rock and it would pour forth it's water' but Moses told the people, must we also provide you water and he smote the rock two times with the rod and the water spilled forth.
For this, God told Moses and Aaron that they would not see the promised land and He chose to take Aaron first.
It didn't say that Aaron was aware of what Moses' actions were to be but Aaron was also punished so I am not quite sure of the sin on Aaron's part, if it be that he did not rebuke Moses for leaving God out of the equation or if that was the intent of the punishable sin.
Here God gave a specific instruction but Moses chose to do it in his way. So was the sin that Moses did not follow God's instruction and was it because in this miracle God was showing the people that the power came from Him and not from the rod... or was it
that Moses said 'must we' and took the praise and glory from God, also exalting themselves
or was it both?
This would then imply that there are times when God wants specific things to happen and it says that mankinds free will may lead us in our own destiny.

Maybe an answer but also a question.

Sorry.

Also Mrs Piggy, it says that God has a storehouse of gifts for His children but we should ask, although He knows our every need and want but He loves it when we acknowledge to Him that through Him alone are all things possible. After all, who likes to be taken for granted.
The intricacies of God are so amazing just like He loves to hear our praise and thanksgiving from His beloved children.

Would You Consider This Abuse? It goes a lot further than that but it would be so much longer and I didn't want to make the read long or get off the subject of discussion. I was on another forum on a different site and my comment was deleted because something I said went off the subject of the forum.
You see I am new to being a practicing christian. I can't call it being re-born except re-born in the spirit because this is a first for me since about five years ago but I was baptized in immersion of water last year.
When God first spoke to me about three months ago, He said that He had been with me over the years through all my troubles and that He loved me. He told me that I must start anew and that He was going to greatly bless me and build me a nation. He told me to give away all the product in the store that my husband and I had built together.
Since then, Satan has been coming at me greatly but not so much as I learn how to deal with him through Jesus Christ.
I have had dreams and visions of gold being fed into my mouth, a scroll opened up before me and then was re-rolled and seven of them were fed into my mouth. I believe these were the word of God.
Thank-you for letting me know how to know what spirit is talking to me. I knew God would answer me somehow.
When I ask Him a question I follow the prompting to surf the net, check my email, read the bible and listen as I know He will always answer in some way.
I actually came to this site to read about spiritual warfare and quite agree with the writer. Spiritual warfare is alive and well. Satan tries to convince people that he is not real so they won't pay attention to his works and are of no threat to him.
When I see/read about things I don't understand, I ask God and search till I find the answer because if He brings you to it then He must want for you to know. This is how I am having so many questions answered. God said He will never give you more than you can bear.
When God brings people together, there is a reason and most likely spiritual growth.

Thank-you.
Yours in Christ.

Demons

I don't know of any scripture, but I will look for it. I know His voice. It was He who told me to post my previous writing. He is concerned that new believers not get caughtup in discussions that they are not spiritually mature enough for. Line upon line. Precept upon precept. This is HIS order of maturing His children. Jesus' example is indicative of how we should be. And another good thing for every child of God to do is look for the fruit. You will know them by their fruit.

My comment was that you are exceptionally gifted, not extraordinary.

Please let's not use the word, "magic" as it has a tone of witchcraft to it. I have cast it from my personal vocabulary. Jesus said not to give the devil a foothold. I take Jesus' words very serious.

Only YOU can open the door.

Jesus asked a rhetorical question of satan whom He already knew. I did not feel it necessary to ask of Him whom I already knew.

Trust me when I say, when you hear it, and you will, you will not doubt that it is He who has spoken.

We have entered into a new "phase" so to speak. We have a new freedom in speaking to Jesus. This is called the Marriage Feast of the Lamb and blessed is he who is invited.

You are obviously being called.

It's time I told you exactly what has happened. Remember when I joined your forum and you reminded me that I had been led here?
A couple of weeks ago I unsubscribed. I know that my unsub was successful; I had heard not a peep from your list for a couple of weeks.

Today at about 1:00 or 1:30, my Teacher (that's what He is to me) told me to look in my inbox. Bing! There you are, totally out of the blue. I was most excited to hear shurells' testimony. So I started to reregister so I could share her excitement. These testimonies are music to my ears!

A box popped up that said I was already registered. I KNOW it was none other than the hand of God that reversed my actions. He brought me back to YOU once more:)

My daughter is 16 - heard it.
My husband is 50 - heard it
I am 45 - It's my lifeline!
Today, a 22 year old friend of my daughter's came to my house to tell me he had heard it!!!
shurell - she's heard it and obviously embraced it!!!!
I'm sure none of us would call ourselves extraordinary. Gifted yes, special no.

God is gathering his army and He is not sending us out into the field without a finely tuned communication system! He wants us to be so close to Him that we can hear Him when He whispers.

I hope and pray that your very next thought is, "I want to hear it, too!"

Much love and respect,
Amy (Betti is my alter ego, LOL)

Demons

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew a scripture on demons having a legal right to things such as movies with Evil plots (witchcraft and such things)
You are an exceptionally gifted woman. Others on this website are not at the same level. Please bear with me on this.

In Mark 5:9, "Then Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" I don't think for one moment that this was written to cause us to believe that Jesus didn't know the name of the evil spirit. I believe it was written for us to know that evil spirits talked to Jesus, so they will talk to us.
And Jesus' question was to let us know that we should call them out by name. This is the way I was taught and I've been following His voice for a while.

Two girls, and one boy. All three has some type of MD (Mental Disability). In addition to that, I fear they are not receiving the proper care at home. Sometimes, the parents send them to school without bathing, they smell, and are extremely dirty at times. When they are SICK, the parents send them to school with dried snot on their faces, hair wet, no jackets, and the little boy's clothing simply ARE TOO SMALL for him. I recently took up an offering at my church to help these poor children. The thing that I don't understand is, the parents have jobs, what are they doing with that money, and why are these kids suffering? I am in good mind to contact DHR or the Child Welfare Services, but I don't want to destroy anyones home, but on the flip side, I don't want to see those children suffer. I need advice. The names I will not reveal, but the ages are 5, 6, and 7. Please help me decide what to do.

You have work to do before you take a job. First you must rebuke these spirits that are attacking you. God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind. We can cast out ANY spirit that is not of God, by telling it to go in the name of Jesus. Jesus has said over and over, Do not fear, just believe. So, cast them out and reclaim your peace in the name of Jesus. With a peaceful mind, approach the Father in prayer concerning this job. Ask God if this is the job HE wants you on. He will answer, yes or no. Do not let your emotions guide you. Be led by the Holy Spirit. Have faith that it will all work to your good. Your work is to believe Jesus. God might want you on this job to lead this woman to Him. Or, He may have a better job in store for you. Children of God don't always experience a warm reception in the work force. So, if God says yes, take the job with faith that God is with you. May you continue to walk with God all the days of your life.

However, I spent the whole weekend at the hospital with my daughter and I was very very exhausted. I called and s/w the office manager and explained I would like to start tomorrow and the reason why. She asked questions about my daughter and when we discussed the grandchildren she asked how many children did she have and I stated "5". Her reply was FIVE, which I felt offened. Yes my daughter became a mother very young. I feel that I would be under pressure or may be judgement at this job. She seemed really funny about the whole situation. Now I don't want to go to work, but I am getting myself very frustrated and confused about what to do. I am on disability and still have a few months that I can still collect and I am thinking maybe I should just wait and job search later on for a different job. I have been under a lot of stress and while I have been job hunting I have been doing it out of fear that no one will hire me because I am a little older. I feel like my whole life is being under attack............. I feel like I should just focus on God over these next few weeks while I am off work and trust him with the outcome of a new job offer.....Any suggestions out there. libby

Got The Revelation

MrsPiggy,
Yes. We need to believe God's Word, and stand on His Word!
I believe that Trust and Rest go together like a hand and a glove!
And may God bless you as you faithfully spread His Word!

Do you mind if I share a recent event of standing on the promise of
Romans 8:28
The other day my Husband was acting much out of character. I asked him what was bothering him? He was very stressed over not getting an order that he worked so hard on. Another Company got the job.
He became very negative...
So I said, "Well, maybe the other Company needed the order more than we did..." He seemed mad, and said something like; "Oh you don't understand..."
I asked him if he remembered the verse that is hung up by the kitchen window? He said he couldn't remember the verse. I said it is Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."And it is true! (He was still angry...)
I told him to remember what God has brought us through in the past, He is faithful. Then I went upstairs to read my Bible. Suddenly my heart began to stir. Soon I found such excitement in my heart, I could not read anymore! I began to pray! I began to praise the Lord! My heart felt like it would explode! I ran back downstairs to ask my Husband if he would pray with me about our Business.
He said he was to busy and and too upset, and didn't want to pray right now. I said; "It will only take about 30 seconds of your time. Please hold my hands and pray with me!" So he did, but I could tell he could not wait to throw off my hands as soon as we were done. I said something like;
"O Lord, we know that Your Word says that all things work together for good to them that love You and are the called according to Your purpose.
And Lord, we know that (Husband) worked hard to get this order, and yet another company got the order. Our hope and our trust is in You Lord.
And Lord we know that You have enough business out there for both of us! Thank You Lord! And now we pray for our all of our Customers, and the one that got the order..."
Then sure enough, he threw my hands off, and said he had to get back to work. I ran back upstairs, and began to read my Bible again... And the excitement in my heart grew and grew... Then I heard the Fax Machine ring... And I waited with excitement... Then my Husband walked into my room and said, "You aren't going to believe this! The Company that we just got done praying for, they just sent us a Fax with a 2 Page order that is HUGE!!!!!!! We weren't even done praying for 90 seconds, and here is a Fantastic order! THANK GOD!" Then he said something like; "Boy, I really need to get into God more, and learn how to pray more!"
(PRAISE THE LORD!)

Got The Revelation

Thank you. This helps me to understand: Come unto me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." I got it!! We can rest in Jesus (and not be dead) And He will do the work. We just believe.

I'm excited about this because as a child, there was a statue in the local cemetary of Jesus with outstretched arms and carved on the podium "Come unto me." All my life I put that scripture with death. But now I understand it's about life. He IS the life!! Excuse me while I jump up and down and shout a minute.

Ok, minute up. As you may know, my purpose is to sow seed. The seed is the Word of God.

I have another scripture: Mark 4:26-27.
'He also said,"This is what the kingdom is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.'

This is so rich. Pray the Word of God. Believe it. See it come to pass. It's all so simple. It's all in the believing!!!

Elsewhere on this sight, there is a discussion about God making us simple. Now, that my eyes are opened more, I can see that He made everything simple. But man (as usual) complicated it. The more time I spend in the Word, the more I see how simple life is. My husband told me that years ago, but he didn't elaborate. We will be discussing it over supper tonight for sure.

A great big AMEN!
Your are on the right track!
We, like Paul, no matter the situation we find ourself in,
can be Content, in Christ!
Oh MrsPiggy, how true your words are...
Jesus never was stressed out! If we trust and lean on Him,
if we hear and obey God's Word, we will have peace!
Praise the Lord! His Word is True!
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Romans 12:2
Got The Revelation

Thank you Arsin and IgnitedFaith. Because of your Inspiration Lyrics "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

I believe the yoke of Jesus is to tell/show of the power, goodness and love of God. That is what Jesus did, right?

And the burden is to"just believe". Based on Mark 5:36 and Luke 8:50. I was thinking that a burden was something hard to do. Since we don't do the work, as it is God who does it, it's not a burden. But then I realized yes, believing is a burden. After all, satan comes against us. The burden is to keep the faith. The enemy comes to steal (our faith), kill (our joy) and destroy (our hope). It is easy to believe when things are going well, but we are commissioned to believe in times of tribulation. Keep the faith. Do not fear at any time. We are to learn of Jesus and imitate Him. He never stressed out. We are not suppose to stress out either. So, we are to be not just hearers of the Word, but put the Word in action.

Talk to me people of God. Am I finally on the right track? My desire is that of Jesus, to do the will of the Father. I have to renew my mind and it is done with the help of all of you.

Thank you for sharing these words. They are so humbling. They really paint the picture of salvation and the price thereof. I agree with IgnitedFaith, it would make an awesome Tract. I woke up this morning thinking of Jesus' words: "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." The lyrics you wrote have helped clarify my thoughts. I now understand it. I will post my thoughts under revelations. Tank you.

Inspirational Song Lyrics

Arsindelve,
It's funny you should say that! Yesterday my Husband and I were taking a walk and joined a couple down the street as they walked.
We talked and I kept wondering if maybe I knew her from the web!
(I didn't ask, but it was exciting to wonder!!!)
I heard of people meeting unexpectantly while shopping. Something is said, and someone asks a question, which lead to, "Do you go on such and such website?... Here they know each other!
So yes MrsPiggy, you never know! Let's trust the Lord! If he wants us or anyone to meet, He will work out the details!

I wondered how can you be more than a conqueror. I knew that through Christ we get the victory. Then today, I understood how we could be more than conquerors. The one who wins the battle is the conqueror. And since we don't fight the battle (Christ fights), we are more than conquerors because we win without fighting!

And as long as you know this, things are alright and will always be alright. He is faithful even when we are not. That's another reason I praise Him.

On this note I'd like to add a scripture that my pastor taught on today. In John 6:28, the disciples asked Jesus "What must we do to do the works God requires?" Jesus answered, " The work of God is this: to believe in the one He has sent."

This truly blessed me cause as I stated before I was struggling to do something in my own strength. And your mentioning a sign made me think of it. I don't have to do anything except pray and believe in Jesus. He will do the work.

The teachings of various denominations causes separation in Bible beliefs is what I was getting at. I was raised Lutheran, attended a Baptist church for about 5 years, have been to a couple of Catholic Mass, so I know the teachings are different. The fact is I choose to believe the WHOLE Word of God. I don't think God has changed at all. I don't believe He is a respecter of persons. He gave spiritual gifts to the early church and He gives them to every reborn saint today. Again, I say, The Truth does not change. It does not matter if you know it or not. We live in a sinful world and Jesus has redeemed us and we have been blessed with EVERY spiritual gift. We have all we need to be productive and fruitful. If others don't want to know or use what God gave them. Let that be their answer at judgment. We must remember, we will not only have to give an account of what we did and said, but of what we didn't do or say and should have. Thank God for free will to chose if we will believe the whole truth or not.

Favorite Bible Verse

new here .

"Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)"

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbid to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine
I rebuke the spirit of offense in the name of Jesus. What I wrote has NOTHING to do with you. I'm sorry if you felt it was directed to you. Please get to know me. When I have something to say to you, it will start with your name. At this point in time, all I know about you is that you are a young woman of God searching for Truth. You are a sister in Christ and of good report. Be blessed.

Christianity And The Mentally Ill

New here I m a Christian since 8 yrs old.Was told I had Borderline Personality Disoreder in 2002.Struggle trying to be a Christian with with my struggles related to BPD.Just now begginning to learn to read my Bible through in a yr .I started in Judges reading from a website called Pathways or something.I will be starting 1 Kings today.I do go to a nice church that accepts me.I like Charles Stanley.

Healing

Has anyone else been following this discussion?

I do know what you mean. I have a sister who is Methodist. She teaches Sunday School, and says she loves the Lord, BUT, when it comes to the Fivefold Ministry and the Gifts of the Spirit, she's alright with all of them except, Tongues, Prophecy, Word of Wisdom & Knowledge and Healing. She says that she believes in healing and that's only because we had an incident where my Father blacked out and his pulse was almost nothing and I laid my hand on his heart and begin to pray in the spirit and all of a sudden he snapped out of whatever it was. His tongue had dropped out of his mouth and once I began praying in the spirit, he opened his eyes and looked at me. The paramedics said there was a very faint pulse and that they were going to take he to the ambulance and work on him on his way to the hospital. When he arrived at the hospital, they ran all kinds of test on his heart and they could find NOTHING wrong with him and to this day they don't know what happened. My sister was in the room when by dad went out and when my other sister and I started praying in tongues her husband said to us "now is not the time for that" we totally disregarded him and did what we had to do. The next day after we all got back home to Michigan she told my younger sister that she knows he's alive now because of me laying hands on him and my younger sister and I praying in the spirit.

I don't understand how people can say they believe in God but not in the gifts he gives us. Their almost "double-minded". It's sad. All we can do is pray for them. I don't try to convice people anymore. I find that God has a way of showing up at the right moment to convince them :).

Healing

Alison,

Have you confirmed your intercessory gift yet? If you're still not sure, ask God. And when you don't know what you should pray for, ask God. I believe God delights in our question and it is His pleasure to answer. It shows our faith in Him and our desire to do His will. Be blessed, woman of God.

Healing

Zoey,
That was so beautiful. Thank you for sharing. There was a time my husband believed I had a gift of healing. Once, about 10 years ago, we flew to Atlanta to visit his best friend who was sick. My husband wanted me to pray for him. I did, we spent the night and flew home the next day. Well, Bob didn't recover instantly. My husband and I were not discouraged because we discussed the lepers who were healed as they went on their way. Anyway, Bob recovered completely. He left his hih paying job at microsoft and went into the ministry. Now, here comes the odd thing. Earlier this week he called us and he and I got to talking about praying in the Spirit and he told me he didn't understand why we were so hung up on all that stuff. He said that was all part of the start of the Church and he does not believe that saints today can speak in tongues or heal by laying on hands!! I was devastated. I spent the next day researching scriptures, which I put in an email and sent to him. He has not responded to the email yet. He did call my husband this morning and was polite when I answered the phone. This is my husband's best friend since 5th grade. I'm thinking he and his wife are Methodist. I'm hurt that so many of God's people are walking around totally ignorant of His gifts. Bob is a very intelligent man. He was one of the people who produced javascript for the computer world!! And that he knows so little about our Lord confuses me. He is a Bible school teacher, so he knows scripture. Never misses church. Is the spiritual leader in his home. But, at this point, I don't think he knows God. Do you know what I mean?

Healing

MrsPiggy, Isn't it wonderful when God does those things to us and we know it has to be Him because its' so supernatural. I had an experience that I will never forget as long as I live.

If you remember I mentioned earlier that God has given me the gift of healing. Well about 2002 my Apostle started a class called Fivefold
Apostolic Church Training. All of her key leaders were in this class and the purpose was to learn about the Fivefold and to determine what our giftings were because this was where the Lord was leading our church. So, I deceided that I was going to go on a weeks fast, but the Holy Spirit told me no, do it for 30 days. So, I fasted from television, sweets, red meats and did fruits and vegetables. I had a routine of reading my word, doing my personal worship, and then falling down and praying. Well, this particular day was a Sunday evening and I had finished doing what I normally do on Sunday evening and I deceided to begin my routine. When I finished listening to my worship music I fell on my knees and begin to pray and as soon as I bowed my head in my hands the Lord (in the Spirit) dropped oil on the top of my head and the best I can describe the feeling is that it felt real thick ( I imagine how sugar would look mixed with honey and stirred) it ran down the back of my head, out over my shoulders, and all the way down to the heels of my feet. When the first drop hit my head I flinched because I didn't know what was happening. I laid there real still until he finished and once it was done all I could do for two hours was cry!!!!. I
