My husband came home with a movie that I knew was bad news. It was a scary movie with demons and the whole nine yards. I of course was mad because I have been taught since I was young to becareful what you bring in to your home because Demons have a legal right to certain things because of its content. I am praying that someone would have a scripture or a word of hope so I can show My husband and hope to resolve this issue in our home.

In Romans 2 it says "...it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified" then it says "For when the gentiles who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires..."

Now for my question. Does this mean that even those who "do not have the law", (which I intepret to mean the Word of God, the Bible), can make it to heaven based on their obedience to an inward predisposed knowledge of the law???

I guess this is a long way of asking, "Can somebody in the jungle who has never heard of God make it to heaven?"

Who Is Jesus

who is Jesus Christ and what is his mission to the world?

Bible

Where in the Bible did Jesus say "In your weakness I am made strong."

My Friend Jess

hi this is dave i have a friend and her name is jess i call her on monday nights and she dos not get her room phone what do i do do i keep caling her or what help me with this one

I have come across a claim online by a non-believer that the Messiah must be a biological descendant of Solomon, rather than just David.

I know the genealogy Luke gives is of Mary, while the one in the Gospel of Matthew is of Joseph but, this person whom I heard this from is saying that the Messiah has to be descended from King David via Solomon for which he cites 2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chronicles 17:11-14, 22:7-10, 28:4-6. He also claims that there is no Biblical basis for the idea of a father passing on his tribal line by adoption. So, basically he is saying is that because Mary, whose genealogy is listed in Luke, is not descended from Solomon but from Nathan and that Joseph who was descended from Solomon but, not Christ's real father that this is allegedly 'proof' that Jesus isn't the Messiah.

I did some research on the claims of this guy and apparently he got them from this article written by a Rabbi Shraga Simmons here: http://jdstone.org/cr/files/whyyoushouldnotbelieveinjesus.html

Does the Bible say the Messiah has to be just from David? Would someone from the line of Nathan be just as legitimate for the title as someone from the line of Solomon? Or is this guy correct that the Bible says that the Messiah has to be biologically descended from Solomon?

I would really appreciate it if you could help me out with this or direct me to someone who could, as I am extremely confused by this.

I'm a saved woman of god who has recently divorced due to my husband abandoning me and my 5 children, committing adultery and having 2 kids on me while married, that I recentlly found out about. It's been 7mos since our divorce and to tell the truth MY HEART HURTS SO BAD! My emotions are ranging from hurt, anger, then bitterness. I don't like feeling this way nor grieving God's spirit. I feel guilty for even having these feelings, sort of like I should just move on with it. In the eyes of the world I should literally hate him for what he's done and how he's just disappeared and moved on, but my heart at times, still has love for him. What's wrong with me? I shouldn't even care what he does or how he lives but I just feel like God is just letting him get away with it and live happily ever after, while I struggle to raise these children on alone. I'm lonely and haven't been in a real relationship for 3years because while we were seperated I remained holy and still do. But, I'm getting tired now and I just don't want to feel like this anymore. What do I do? I've prayed, fasted, and everything else and it seems like nothing is working. I WILL STAY SAVED BUT.............How do I get over these emotions and unfairness of him enjoying life while I'm devasted? He and these women are enjoying themselves and ruined my family, what now? Our staff will begin posting some answers later tomorrow.

It is a fairly strong argument that Jesus followers must be proclaiming the truth regarding his resurrection because of the absolute dedication of the rest of their lives to living out the mission that Jesus had given them. Moreover, the martyrdom of the disciples provokes the realization that not many people would give their lives for a hoax..

Yet, despite this, I think perhaps because the teachings of Jesus were so unique and could provide for a greater peace among believers (hence, leading to a more peaceful society), the followers of Jesus chose to live and die for it in order to create the belief in a 'Son of God' in people to result in those believers 'loving each other'. Thus, this seems to be a worthy reason. If they could die for this purpose, they could fabricate the resurrection of Jesus in order to fuel the success of what they preach.

I used to be a Christian, but am having serious difficulty believing. I want to, but I'm not sure whether it is a worthwhile or intelligent commitment.

Not Sure What To Pray For

I married my husband after a brief internet affair. I moved from England to be with him in Canada.
My husband had a very bad experience in his previous divorce and i think that i have paid the price for this. I think my husband does love me deep down but he shows no love or regard for me whatsoever. I have been seriously ill and he expected me to carry on as usual, being called names when i was unable to do for him what he wanted ( my health problem made me very weak and tired)
Apart from being very insensitive i have put up with all kinds of emotional abuse and have lies told about me to his family members and have found the judging that they have done to be very unfair and humiliating, when asked about it my husband denies ever saying anything.
I have found it very hard to be a doormat for this man and have stood up to him on every occasion that i can, as wifes we are supposed to be submissive but i just could not be. Throughout our 7 year marriage he has left me above 10 times and it has been very painful, but this is when he feels the need to go running to people telling his tales.
I stood up to him this time and feel terrible as i threw everything back at him, i never held anything back, it was an horrendous day, i screamed and shouted and he just kept laughing in my face with no concern of how he has made me feel throughout our marriage.
Anyway, he walked out that day in the clothes he stood up in and has never been back, he is ignoring me and my emails for help finacially and up until yesterday his family did not know he had left which i find very strange as usually they are his first alli.
He told me before he left that he was going to try and buy me out of the house and as yet i have heard nothing. I was sure on that day that this is what i wanted, but now I know it is not. I want more than anything for my husband to say sorry for treating me as his housemaid and want me for his wife, is it wrong to expect him to say sorry? am I supposed to just forgive and accept everything he wishes to give me?. I do love him very much.
Can anyone tell me which prayer i should be using or if i should even stand for a marriage that seems hopeless right now as i am sure that my standing up to him has made him hate me. Please help me.

Jesus

how old was jesus when he died for us? what were the year that he died in?

What's Happened Since I Met Jesus?

Dear Friends

I would love to have your advice on my spiritual problem which can be put very simply, I met Jesus Christ but Im not sure whats happened since.

Eight years ago while sitting in the bath these words formed in my mind and I sort of said them inwardly, I feel a gentle and growing sense that Jesus is for me. There and then I became overwhelmed by a wonderful, overpowering feeling of love happening to me, disabling all my awkwardness and tension, my apathy and my indecision, my fear and my bitterness, all of it crushed, overpowered, gone. And I felt completely liberated, in receipt of the most wonderful presence, a gift of total and overwhelming love inside me, flowing through me and out of me. For the next few minutes everything made sense perfectly, intensely and joyously. I had no doubt, and I still believe that in that moment I met the risen Christ and the Holy Spirit.

But Im really struggling to make sense of whats happened since.

At that time, intellectually, I was very concerned about harmony between different religions and social, humanitarian and political causes and I feared that this experience that I had had would lead me away from these causes and towards an anti-intellectual and narrow-minded way of thinking and worshipping.

Incredibly instead of committing to Christ I became a member of the Bahai Faith for the next three years. They said that Christianity, along with Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Zoroastrianism were all from the same source and were relevant for their period in time but were now superceded by the present dispensation of Bahaullah. They stressed the equality of the sexes and of the religions, of how the world had to unite to deal with problems of war and famine and global warming. This message appealed to me intellectually and so I convinced myself that my religious experience was not specifically of Christ (though deep down I knew that it was) and it was a general sign of approval of what the Bahais had told me.

Eventually I realised that the Bahais were not everything they had seemed and I admitted that I had lied to myself in claiming any sort of spiritual impulse towards the faith.

Over the next few years I drifted back into worshipping in Church and started to piece together a theology that took the risen Christ seriously yet was not anti-intellectual. In all of this I was committed to the reality of my religious experience in the bath eight years ago, and so in that respect I have made a sort of progress.

But that living, saving, presence of Christ, while I no longer deny it I am not in touch with it I dont feel it. I dont live from it or with it, its not a spiritual reality in my life.

And it makes me wonder is it possible that I met Christ but put myself outside of his presence by my failure to respond adequately at the time?

Is it of any benefit to me t...

Jesus

My friends Son keeps asking "if Jesus rose from the dead, why can't my Grandad?" how do you answer that? Why are there so many different Christian churches? Which ones are from God and which ones did man decide are right? I recognize that this is a hard question and I know that many of the churches in the US say they believe in the Trinity or the triune God, but they have all of these differences. I thought we were not to add to or take away from the Holy Scriptures, The Bible. I am not looking to argue, but however I want to understand. I used to go to church, but of lately, I have become

I live w/ my in-law's. I am the only one working. My husband is on Workers Comp. My Father-in-law has been out of work for 2 years (last August). My mother-in-law watches my 2 year old, and has been a stay-at-home mom for years.
My husband was getting a part of his salary, but now that has been taken away, b/c he arrived late to one of his appointments. We don't know when his pay checks will kick in again, at this point. As of today, I am the only one earning income.
I give 98 of my check to my In-law's to help with bills, groceries, etc. Now that the WC checks stopped, my husband and I are really struggling to make ends meet. We want to help my in-law's, but if we do, and no more WC checks, then we will not have enough for our bills that we handle with the 2-3 hundred we get every 2-3 weeks. We have car payment, warranty for the car, and car insurance that we pay with the little money we have left over.
On top of all of this, my in-law's undermine my authority with my 2 year old. They always have opinions. Everything that I do with her is wrong, in their eyes. I can't even raise my child the way I want to.
Now I feel that I should try to get a second job. My husband doesn't want me to, but I don't think we can make it with my check alone. I make about 750 every 2 weeks (b/c of taxes and benefit deductions). I don't know what to do. I have prayed about it. I have been waiting for any answer to help me. I don't know if finding a second job is something God is telling me to do, or if it is just my eagerness to get out of the situation I'm in. My husband is going to talk to his dad about getting a job, but he doesn't know when he will have the momentum to do so. He is afraid of the outcome. He doesn't want his relationship to be ruined. I'm trying to be paitent. I just don't know if I should continue to wait and hope everything turns out alright, or if I should put my foot forward and find a second job to help out more.
My co-workers suggested I call out help hotline, provided by our company, to get an opinion from someone that I don't know. I figure you don't know me, so it won't hurt to ask you. I feel more comfortable on here than calling someone.
Your advise will be appreciated and taken into consideration.

Humility

how did jesus demonstrate humility

People

hi am kevin of 19 yrs of age.what will happen to the people that did not believed in jesus and god??has anyone seen god?why people that prays idols are so sure that this is their god?sometimes i quarrel with my cousin,he says that the people who meditate their mind goes to god??is that true??

YWHVYehoshua

I love the Lord with all my heart and I am the sheep that recognizes the Sheppard voice.

I am currently in a job that is consuming much of my time, my energy and sanity. I am one of three saved persons working there. Everyday there's always some sort of conflict and confusion going on. The individuals who cause most of the confusion are always rewarded by management, and that same manager is also the author of majority of the confusion/conflict -- either by taking a blind eye to the issues and grievances that occur or dismissing the complaints that arrive at their desk. I find myself getting caught up in the confusion and often times involved in arguments, confrontations and "backbiting" sessions against those employees who are causing problems. ( I find myself repenting everyday for such things.)

I've prayed over and over about whether I should stay or find another job. I understand God puts you in places to glorify His name, like he did Joseph. I do try to minister to those who are unsaved, including the lone manager. I've prayed for God to show me signs as to whether I should leave -- and things just keep getting worse and worse. I know Christians must be accustomed to longsuffering but it feels as if I'm longsuffering for the job and not Christ. I'm new to this site, but I will step out on a limb with this because I'm all about maturing in my Christian walk. Question: When will I finally be confident that I am hearing God's voice and not my own? I titled this "Barking up the wrong tree" because for some reason I think there is a certain formula, ect. to recognizing God's voice. For example: Am I not spending enough time in prayer? Am I not spending enough time in God's word? Am I not yielding to His will (like I know what that is, since I'm not sure that I'm hearing Him!)? Just the fact that it seems God is being distant, makes me want to give up and not even try to listen for Him. It just seems so hard. Does anyone else struggle with this, or do I just have this all distorted. Anyone?

Christians And The Bible

Hey!

You know, I just happened to be browsing a Christian's profile (not here) and he said a statement I'd like your input on:

"Not all Christians believe the Bible 100"

My name is Danielle and I'm fifteen years old. I just got my first boyfriend after waiting fourteen years to find a guy who's deep in his relationship with God (and my boyfriend is currently seventeen). We've been together for almost a year and three months (on Christmas Eve). I tried to find a guy that I could see myself marrying (yes, I know, I'm young...but he's an AMAZING...Christian?) He takes care of his friends, he's never taken advantage of me, he goes to church, he puts God first and he's got an intimate relationship with Him. And when he was younger, he did drugs and lived a very unholy life (although I didn't know him at that time) and his family sent him to a military school in Utah...whereafter he found God and converted to Mormonism. You see my dilemna? My boyfriend is Mormon, and I don't know how to convert him away because he's so strong in his faith (he's going on his mission trip after he graduates this year)...I mean, I feel like my religion is the right one, but I'd like a devotional that could address any "problems" with his religion and what it's about (and I'm not trying to find anything to accuse him with...I want to come to him in love and show him that I want him to convert because I care about him)...I know the basics since I wrote an essay on it, but I don't know what to use to make him change. He's even tried to convert me and has given me the B of M to read (he's said that it's "brought him great peace and comfort" in his life). I love him and it's really important to me to have him in heaven. Thanks.

Life After Death

Where do believers and unbelievers go immediately after death?
